Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge Walk
The weather is beautiful, you want a to talk a walk, or ride your bike or get your daily 5 mile jog in and you happen to be in Mount Pleasant or downtown Charleston. This is your perfect opportunity to head to the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge and get your exercise on.
You’ll see the most beautiful views of the Cooper River, the Mount Pleasant harbor and the Charleston Harbor. When you get to the top middle of the bridge, there’s benches to sit and take in the view.
I visit Mount Pleasant frequently as I used to live there and have family and friends there. On my recent visit in November of 2014, I thought it was about time to take a few pictures and show you how special the bridge and views are. I actually lived there during the time the bridge was being constructed and was part of the opening festivities.
The Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge over the Cooper River in South Carolina, connecting downtown Charleston to Mount Pleasant. Underneath the bridge on the Mount Pleasant side, you’ll find the Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park.
There’s plenty of places to park and a gas station on the corner where you can grab a bottle of water if you forgot to bring one before taking on the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge.
Anyway, here’s my Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge pictures. Enjoy!

Walking the Arthur Ravenel Jr. bridge is a great activity to take the whole family. The walk is a gentle slope and the safety walls are high enough to not have to worry about the little ones on the water side of the bridge. You do want to keep a hand on children who are climbers as the half wall on the side of the traffic is just a barrier but not un-climbable. Strollers are fine to take so head out with the family! You’ll love it!
