Taino Beach Resort Freeport Bahamas Review
When I logged into my travel club membership and saw I could stay here at the Taino Beach Resort in Freeport, Bahamas for just $599 for a 7 night/8 day stay, I just went ahead and booked it. What a deal!
We took the Bahama Shuttle from Ft. Lauderdale to Freeport, Bahamas. It was a pleasant 3 hour trip over. We watched a movie, had lunch and before you know it, we were there. Look how big this boat is.
Getting through customs was quick (I don’t know if I got lucky or that’s the norm). Upon arrival to the resort we got checked in and then scheduled some excursions.
The reception hall where you check in was beautiful. There was as much rum punch (with and without alcohol) as you could want and there’s free wi-fi in the lobby. Turned out I was able to get it from my condo as well which was in the back of the complex almost ocean front.
Let’s take a walk to our room and see some of the landscaping along the way
We were on the top level, building on the end so we got great views of the ocean
THE ROOM SET UP
Our 1 bedroom fully furnished condo slept 4.
The downstairs area is set up as a studio. There was a queen bed down with full bath downstairs and a queen bed and 1 3/4 bath upstairs.
The height of the kitchen counter, the microwave hanging and the bath set up was a different that what I’m used to here in the US. It was fine because I appreciate how other countries design based on preference and weather.
The weather is tropical and wooden cabinets would swell and mold so there’s no wood. It’s all concrete with glaze. Also, everything can get damp inside if you keep your doors open and the air off. So, I can see why they use the materials they use.
Upstairs is a queen bed with 1 3/4 bath, TV and closet/drawers
I don’t recommend this particular unit if you’re traveling with small children. It’s too easy for them to fall out of the second floor.

LOVE OUR VIEW!
We spent time out here eating, relaxing, checking email and planning what we wanted to do for the day. We could see the ocean as well as get a glimpse of the pool. The clouds, the rain, the sun, the trees blowing in the wind was all beautiful from this balcony.
A few from the walkway upstairs to head down.
Taino By The Sea On-Site Restaurant
After we checked in…
We went to the on-site restaurant, Taino By The Sea, for lunch. This is the only on-site eatery available. For anything more, there’s a little convenient store in across the street in their sister hotel or take a water or car taxi over to Lucaya Market.
GROCERY SHOPPING AT SOLOMONS
After lunch we caught a free bus out in front of the lobby that Taino offers over to Solomons grocery store and stocked up for the week. The refrigerator is small so we can to be smart with what we bought.
Or, we always have the option to head over to the grocery store a couple of times, rather than just once. There’s no charge for the drive over and it’s all part of Taino’s resort free services.
We picked up stuff for salads and sandwiches mostly along with a variety of fruits (oh the melons!) In terms of munchies, here’s a few things we picked up to try.
We paid in US dollar but received back Bahama dollar
Look at the lush landscaping and walkways throughout the resort.
The Taino Beach Resort Pool Is Amazing!

BEACH FRONT AT THE TAINO BEACH RESORT
We came down our stairs to ground level, you’ll see a resort bathroom and then follow the path to the beach. It’s about a minute.
Other Amenities At The Taino Beach Resort
Besides the pool and being ocean front, there were other things you could do.

- Grills and tables
- Children’s playground
- New workout facility upstairs in the lobby building and I totally forgot to get pictures for you! UGH!

Taino Beach Resort Timeshare – Don’t Buy!
Join Our Travel Club Instead
During our stay at the Taino Beach Resort we had the opportunity to visit with others who where there, many of whom were timeshare owners of a unit.
- They paid $20,000 plus for their unit.
- They can only use it once a year.
- They pay annual maintenance fees.
- They pay special assessments.
- They are restricted to the week they can use it.
Why do that?
Back in 2007 we purchase a lifetime travel club membership and it allows us to stay at the Taino Beach Resort whenever we want. We can reserve a studio, 1 and 2 bedroom fully furnished condo and pay wholesale which will run between $398 and $799 for our entire 7 night/8 day stay.
- No timeshare purchase.
- No timeshare presentation.
- No maintenance fees.
- No special assessments.
- No restrictions.
I found a unit on sale for $15,000 and look at the costs and restrictions of owning the timeshare!
Other’s paid “best price guarantee” on the search engines and paid a lot! We just paid $599! You will find that with the membership, you’ll save 50% to 90% off best price guarantee.
This is why we can take more vacations! We have 7 vacations on calendar for this year (2016) and they total $2,990.
That’s six 7 night/8 day resort vacations in 2 and 3 bedroom condos during the year. We can’t afford NOT to vacation!
We have used our travel club membership again, again and again through the years and it has paid for it’self 100 times over. It’s been one of the best decisions we’ve made as a family, to own this membership.
We invite you to get all the information on the membership so you can start taking more vacations for less. You’re travel more!
Taino Beach Resort Summary
We enjoyed ourselves very much. This resort is in a location where it causes you to unwind. It’s a quiet resort other than the bon fire nights so you can get your naps, reading, and relaxation in. If you want more action, simply head over to Lucaya Market where there’s lot of restaurants, shops and music. You’ll have a great time there.
The food at the Taino By The Sea restaurant was delicious. We ate there a few times and always got a good meal for a fair price.
The staff was polite, friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay.
The resort itself is very clean and everything worked.
With The Money We Saved, We Did Some Fun Things!
You know, when we vacation, we love to get out and explore, discover, experience and get into the communities. Because we only paid $599 for entire week, we had extra money to do fun things with. Here’s some of the things we did.
- Bon Fire
- Glass Bottom Boat
- 2 Island Tours
- Nature Preserve
- Lucaya Market
We hope you enjoyed these pictures and our review on the Taino Beach Resort.
