The Butterfly Palace Review
We almost didn’t take time to stop here at the Butterfly Palace but we’re sure glad we did!
Parking is plenty and you enter and leave through the lower level where you purchase tickets as well as browse the gift shop.
Ticket prices are subject to change of course, but here’s what they were at the time I wrote this blog:
Adults: $18.95 + tax each
Seniors (55+): $16.95 + tax each
Child (ages 4-12): $ 9.95 + tax each
3 and under are free
*Purchasing an admission ticket gets you a wristband which is valid for 3 days!
The gift shop area is really nice. You’ll see lots of unique gifts for your family, friends or yourself. The building is very clean and the staff is friendly.
The upstairs area features the live butterflies.
Here’s a sign you’ll see as you enter the breezeway into the butterfly area.
When we enter, we’re handed a little tube with nectar. This way you can get up close and personal and feed the butterflies with the nectar flowers. The butterflies get a tasty drink of nectar while you get to enjoy them. You’ll see Steve with one below so you can see what they look like.
TIP: Butterflies are attracted to bright colors. If you wear bright clothes, they’ll land all over you.
This beautiful butterfly has left to go to Butterfly heaven. You’ll find them here and there but staff tries their best to remove them as soon as possible.
Did you know the average butterfly lives 17 days? Every day they introduce brand new butterflies and remove ones that go to butterfly heaven.
During your encounter, one of the workers will release new butterflies.
The hats: Don’t think you have to wear a hat! These are really for the kids who come to visit but I’m a kid at heart and wanted to have fun. So we opted for hats for a few pictures. What do you think? Do I look like an official butterfly scout?
Look how beautiful the landscaping is for the butterflies and our enjoyment.
Yes, butterflies land everywhere as Regina is demonstrating.
As you leave the butterfly area, you go through an inspection to make sure you don’t have any butterflies on you.
There’s other things to do here at the Butterfly Palace. This place really caters to kids and offers great learning and discovery opportunities, however, as an adult, I really enjoyed it.
Rainforest Science Center
This is a small room filled with various wildlife found in the rainforest. Don’t forget to have your photo taken with a lizard if you want. Of course I did!
I didn’t go through here but those that did had a great time.
The Great Banyan Tree Adventure
We had a fun time. The best part was watching the butterflies take flight during their release as well as feeding them. We spent about 3 hours there taking our time looking around, visiting the areas of discovery and shopping.
If you have kids with you on vacation, I think this would be a memorable adventure for them (and you).
We were in the Branson, Missouri area because we picked up a fully furnished condo for just $398. Total.
Here’s the back story…
I got hooked up with a lifetime travel club membership back in 2007 and it’s pretty darn amazing. Here’s why. We paid a one time low price for the membership and it gives us access for LIFE, to timeshare resort properties without having to sit through one of those darn presentations or having to buy a timeshare.
It’s literally the back door, the hidden path, to stay at these amazing resorts. PLUS, as a member, you only pay for the week(s) you want as you vacation and you pay wholesale for the week. I kid you not. You pay between $398 and $799 for the entire 7 night/8 day stay and no funny business. No monthly or annual fees. No nothing.
I’ve talked about this travel club for years and nobody has heard of it. It’s the best kept secret!
Our stay for the week at the The Carriage Place at Surrey Vacation Resort was only… (drum roll)…. $398. Total. Done. Check out the pictures of the place! It’s truly a home away from home. The condo we stayed in was called a lockout which means we had a 2 bedroom condo attached to a 1 bedroom condo. We had so much room!
There’s over 5,000 resorts worldwide you can stay at!
Anyway, I can hook you up if you want more info. Just put your name and email in the box on the side of this blog and you’ll get all the info.
Happy Travels and Live Your Life on Vacation!
