Under The Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge At Night
I lived in Mount Pleasant for several years and absolutely loved it. When I moved there, there were two old rickety bridges that connected Mount Pleasant to Charleston and driving those… well, I could do without. They were obsolete and in bad need of removal.
I watched the Arthur Ravenel Jr. bridge go up and on July 14, 2005 people everywhere were invited to walk on the bridge before they opened it to traffic. It was a hot and fun filled day. We thought it was very cool that we were there at this time in history.
A short time later, a park was built underneath the bridge.
I was recently there again in Mount Pleasant and took some pictures of the Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park and pier that was developed under and around the Mount Pleasant side of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. bridge. I just love being here. The park is so classy, clean and perfect for so many things. Enjoy!
I hope you enjoyed these pictures and if you are planning a trip to Mount Pleasant or the Charleston area of South Carolina, you owe it to yourself to take a half hour and stroll along the pier and take in the beauty of the river and visit the memorial to those who have served to protect our freedom.
I will be posting pictures from walking the bridge during the day which was a blast so watch for that.
