There’s so much to do in Colonial Williamsburg, that we decided to take a “history trip”. We would spend 7 nights in the Colonial Williamsburg area, then head to Fredricksburg for a couple of days to visit and stop at 3 presidents’ homes on the way home stopping over 1 night.
It would prove to be an awesome trip!
I logged into our travel club membership and found a “member to member” listing for the Williamsburg Plantation Resort in Virginia, just a few miles from Colonial Williamsburg. The total cost for our 7 night / 8 day stay was just $325, including tax. The unit was for a 2 bedroom / 2 bath unit that sleeps 6. I booked it which took all of about 30 seconds.
I love this travel club because of the prices and quality of resorts in over 5,000 locations worldwide. Owning it will cause you to travel more because you see, for $325 for the week, heck… you can’t afford NOT to vacation!
I’ll tell you more about that at the end of my review but first, let me show you around Williamsburg Plantation.
The clubhouse where we checked in.
Love the colonial look and feel already!
Heading To Our Condo
The streets are like any other nice neighborhood. It was a true condo community. Families were out walking and playing, grilling, and enjoying life.
Here’s Our Condo
You walk into the entry hall and then there’s a unit downstairs and a unit upstairs. The laundry is in the hall so both units can share the stack set. Our unit is upstairs.
Here’s our Floor Plan. Note: Just one side.
Living Room, Kitchen Area and Dining
Almost Full Kitchen
We had a countertop 2-burner unit for stovetop cooking, full dishwasher, a full refrigerator, microwave and all the dishes and pots and pans. The only appliance we didn’t have is an oven. It appears a bit small but other than the oven, look at all the cabinetry and full size everything. It was really nice. The table is right there so we used that for making sandwiches and anything else you’d otherwise need a lot of counter space for.

Williamsburg Plantation Resort Review Summary
What a great week! What a great stay! Staff was great, condo was great, property was great. We have nothing to complain about and are totally happy campers. I’d give it a two thumbs up.
It only took us about 10-15 minutes to get to Colonial Williamsburg each day and there’s many restaurants and shops and other things to do along the way. This made it a great location for us.
Tip: Be sure to check out the brochures in their lobby as they were full of coupons. All week we got BOGO ice cream and it was name brand! Delicious! Anyway, that’s just a fun tip. There’s also complimentary coffee and tea in the clubhouse so grab a cup on your way in and out.
If we came back to this area, this would be our home away from home.
We Saved So Much Money!
Because our lodging for the entire week was only $325, we had money to do other fun things.
Our savings paid for…
5 Day pass at Colonial Williamsburg
President Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello
President James Madison Estate
President James Monroe’s Estate
And do you know the cost of all of this totaled what we would have had to pay JUST for lodging for the week through Best Price Guarantee on the search engines?
This is how we can travel and take more vacations. When the cost of your lodging is just $325-$799 for the entire week, your money stretches!
Don’t Buy The Williamsburg Plantation Timeshare
Join The Travel Club Membership Instead
The Williamsburg Plantation Resort is a timeshare that people pay $20,000 plus for.
- They pay annual maintenance fees.
- They have date restrictions as to when they can use it.
- They are limited to how many times a year they can stay.
- They are subject to special assessments.
In fact, here’s what maintenance fees/special assessments look like.
Here’s an update from the Williamsburg Plantation to it’s owners on how the maintenance fees are being spent. The problem is owners have to pay these maintenance fees regardless of whether they actually can use their 1 week vacation or not. This feels like being a real home owner but yet you can’t stay in your home except once a year or some variation of same. Timeshares are so restrictive and costly.
What about Best Price Guarantee on Search Engines?
A one-time resort stay through search engines will cost you 50% to 90% more, even with best price guarantee. Our travel club always saves you at least 50%. You will find yourself taking more vacations than ever because the prices are so low, you can’t afford not to.
